Ms. Debbie holds a Dance Masters Teachers Certification from Kent State University and a BS in business administration from Salisbury State College. Prior to opening D'Ann Danse Studios in 1983, Ms. Wehlan taught dance at Salisbury State University and served first as Treasurer & then as Vice President for the Maryland Council for Dance. Her professional credits include recognition by the National Foundation for the Advancement of the Arts and New York City Dance Alliance; publication in four national periodicals including DANCE MAGAZINE, DANCE PAGES, & DANCE TEACHER; awards for "Best Choreography," "Critic's Choice Award," "Best of Show," "Best Jazz Entry," "Best Variety Entry," "Best Partnering," and Highest OVerall Competition Scores; and National TV commercials. She is a producer, director, choreographer, dancer, writer, event planner, and the editor of Celebration Style magazine. Debbie continues to work with today's cutting edge choreographers and international dance masters to bring the best in dance education to her students.
Her students have performed in four BROADWAY SHOWS; are seven time United States National Dance Champions in Petite, Junior, Senior Ballet, Jazz, Tap, Lyrical, and Variety Dance; are current defending PETITE & JUNIOR NATIONAL DANCE CHAMPIONS; performed at the LYRIC OPERA HOUSE & BROADWAY DANCE CENTER; in INTERNATIONAL TOURING PRODUCTIONS; in FILMS and on TV; modeled for NATIONAL DANCEWEAR and COSTUME CATALOGS; invited by STAR SEARCH; and have received NUMEROUS SCHOLARSHIPS to prestigious schools for the performing arts including OKLAHOMA CITY UNIVERSITY.
Her D'Ann Danse Company performed in DISNEY WORLD, Orlando, FL on the Galaxy Stage in the Magic Kingdom in Spring 1997, on THANKSGIVING DAY 1998, and in DISNEYLAND, CA 2000, 2001, 2003, and performed Easter 2002 on ROYAL CARIBBEAN CRUISE line's Monarch of the Seas.

She earned her Dance Masters Certification from Kent State University's Teachers Training School and her B.S. in Business Administration from Salisbury State University, where upon graduation, she became a member of the teaching staff in the University's dance department.
She has been recognized by the National Foundation for Advancement in the Arts for the exceptional artistic achievements of her students. Her studio has been selected for the last 4 years to represented Maryland as the OFFICIAL STATE DELEGATES at the International Festival, Dance Excellence! in Long Beach, CA.
